The image at the top is the first picture we have from SORTIE-UK and shows what we predict Wytham would be like in 424 years time. Greg is working on this now to allow us to take into account climate change in this prediction. Meanwhile both Nana Li and Liu Yu are preparing for their first field seasons in China, we have decided that in this first year they will both do similar things mainly collecting observational data on swallows as a baseline for future experimental work. On top of this the philosophy article submitted to TREE came back with revisions required, but a generally positive tone. This article is now back with the journal and we all have our fingers crossed for it again. Of the other articles, the breeding seasons article was panned by the referees and Aris is working on a revision that will see it converted into a theoretical article focussing on whether Grafen’s phenotypic gambit approach can be used as a means to incorporate evolution into ecological models. The one submitted to PLOS 1 has not emerged. Aris is most excited about his TB - badgers - cows work though which is looking very promising. What a I doing, well research wise I am planning a grant application looking at diet shifts as a response to climate change and looking forward to a week in China with Nana Li and Liu Yu in April.
