Trees for the wood

The two field assistants have done a huge amount of work over their month of employment. They have finished now and I am trying to process all the data they collected. Their data have been joined by another set of measurements by the ECN. The new data have helped to sort out a lot of the relationships and we now have good descriptions of the allometry of most of the trees species. Others are still looking shaky and we will clearly have to obtain or collect more data on some parameters especially those that link light to growth. In the meantime Greg has changed direction to the impact of climate change on the forest rather than the hydrology, he will need to move quickly to get his work done in time. Liu Yu and Nana have spent their time reading and bringing themselves up to speed in key areas relating to their project. We are gradually developing our plans for their projects which will need to be formed for their panel meetings before Xmas.
